On Saturday, the MBAA helped host another successful 5K! This 5K helped raise funds for the Brooklet United Methodist Church Preschool. The preschool is trying to improve their playground for the health and safety of the children who attend school there. Currently, the playground is landscaped in mulch and the administration would like to replace the mulch with a soft rubber surface. Not only would this surface be safer for the toddlers, who aren’t quite stable on their feet yet, but also won’t allow them to pick up mulch and put it in their mouths. The 5K had around 70 participants, and we couldn’t have asked for a prettier day. The first girl finished in just under 20 minutes, while pushing a stroller. Thank you to all of our sponsors including, Franklin Chevy, Pita Pit, Low Country Cremation, TM Powersports, BUMC John Wesley Sunday School, Galactic Comics, Liz Bland, and Amy Bonner and other friends of the preschool. Also, thank you to Swim Bike Run for allowing us to host an early packet pickup at the store on Friday night.
This week the MBAA will have its last meeting of the semester and celebrate one year of great success. Please come join us on Wednesday in College of Business room 1104 at 5:15pm for the First Birthday of the MBAA!
